Peterborough Beer Festival
Tue 24th to Sun 29th August 2004

We will have over 350 different cask conditioned real ales from more than 100 independent British breweries.

As always we will have some favourites, some from very small micros and some from breweries that have started brewing since the last festival.

You can see the full initial beer list here. Please remember, though, that there are usually a couple of breweries that never get back to us so we have to change the list and a few beers that fail to turn up or are replaced by 'similar' beers by the brewery or supplier.

Our policy is to have all beers available for all sessions, but it is inevitable that some will take longer to drop bright than expected and that some beers will be finished before the festival ends.

On the Tuesday evening, a tasting panel will choose the Best New Brewery Beer from the twenty to thirty such beers we expect to have available.

Also, on the Tuesday, we ask you to vote for the beers in each category that you feel should go through to the tasting sessions held on the Wednesday lunch time to decide the category winners and the overall Champion Beer of the Festival. Last year, Oakham Ales  won the overall Champion Beer of the Festival with Bishops Farewell, and as is our normal tradition, that means that we have asked them to produce the Festival Special  for this year.

If you enjoy traditional cider and perry, then you will not be disappointed. One of the best selections to be found anywhere will be available at the festival. Remember to vote for your favourite at the cider and perry bar. Here is the cider list.

On the bottled beer bar, you can expect to find a fine selection of unpasteurised beers including ones brewed with wild yeasts and ones containing large quantities of fruit. If you don't think that you like beer, take a visit to this bar and challenge Noel to find a beer that you will like. Here is the list of bottled beers.

If you really don't like beer and have been dragged along by your wife (or husband) then traditional country wines are available on the cider bar. And if you're the unlucky driver then soft drinks are also available including a range of natural single variety apple juices.
